Reflection For Term 1

What we have done so far in this term is that at first, we started to get to know each other's weaknesses and strengths in music so that we could know what each person can do best and learnt about the whole design cycle process. Then, we were introduced to the design cycle so we are able to understand more about it and will be able to understand the project we will do together later on with the class. So, we are starting to build up what are we going to do using the design cycle. We decided on the themes we would possibly use for the project and broke it down to lesser ideas (vote)  that we think were the best ones. Groups were divided into each of those broken down themes and we researched about those themes according to our groups. Afterwards, we presented what we think is a good idea to perform to the class. We thought about how are we going to perform based on the theme we're researching on and shared our opinions about it as well. After that, we voted for the things that were the best and then were left with the remaining topics: forward to the past & legends in music. We decided to do a medley, mixed between the two of those because the both of had almost the same number of points.

What I think!
I really want to hurry up and play instruments! But I also think planning is necessary because it will be much more difficult if we go ahead and just play without planning anything at all. The design cycle is a huge help to the project and we could break it down from many ideas to 2 ideas which is great and the most wonderful ideas we think are the best from our own personal ideas. I really like music. That's why, by sharing our ideas, we also develop teamwork in our class. Honestly, I was surprised because I thought we would just go ahead and play music just like when I was in Year 7. But in Year 8, it's different because we get to do what we want as a class and perform independently. It's actually fun and creative for our minds as well to share our own creative ideas for music class. So, I hope we'll be able to continue this next term!
